A Master Mason certificate issued by Amicable Lodge, No. 36, (Herkimer, N.Y.) to Edward M. Griffing and dated October 18, 1819. The imprint at the bottom of the certificate reads, "Drawn and engraved by Brother Amos Doolittle New Haven: for H. Parmele. Copy right secured. The above may be had of Brothrs. Phila. Saml. Maverick, N. York, A. Doolittle, New Haven, and I. W. Clark Albany. Diploma of the 3rd Deg."
