A colorful postcard illustration of the Scottish Rite Temple in Kansas City, Missouri. Publication date 1911-1912. The caption on the front of the postcard reads, “64: - Scottish Rite Temple of Freemasonry, Linwood Boulevard and the Paseo, Kansas City, Mo.” The caption on the back of the postcard reads, “This $1,250,000 temple of Bedford stone stands at one of the highest points in Kansas City, Mo., at the intersection of two principal boulevards and cross state highways. It is as high as an eight-story building; its auditorium will seat 2200 persons; and the site provides parking space for more than 200 automobiles. The classic style of architecture is emphasized by the 32 symbolic columns of the Greek Ionic order, and the sculpted sphinxes at each side of the main entrance.”
