Manuscript copy of a letter from Frederick Dalcho to Antoine Louis Moret, 1813 May 2
Description
Manuscript copy of a letter from Frederick Dalcho to Antoine Louis Moret. Dated May 2, 1813. In this manuscript copy of a letter, Dalcho responds to unsubstantiated claims that the Supreme Council, Southern Jurisdiction, does not exist or has been dissolved. Dalcho further states he has “not abandoned the Council but” has “been present at most if not all their meetings and . . . [is] still the Lieut. Grand Commander.” Professional duties may have prevented Dalcho from “devoting as much of my time to masonick pursuits” as he once did, but he still wishes for the Fraternity’s prosperity and honor. Concludes by affirming the Supreme Council, Southern Jurisdiction’s, respect for Emanuel De La Motta, who was about to meet with the Supreme Council. Certified on July 1, 1815, by Antoine Louis Moret.
