Letter from Moses Holbrook to John James Joseph Gourgas. Dated August 23, 1828. In this letter, Sovereign Grand Commander Holbrook of the Southern Jurisdiction reports that since July 1 he has suffered from a second attack of Dengue fever, which has prevented him from writing. Reports that he has “received much information” in regards to “the state of the masonic question in the western part of” New York. Wrote to John Fowler in regards to the “letters containing the cypher.”
