Letter from Moses Holbrook to John James Joseph Gourgas. Dated November 24, 1827. In this letter, Sovereign Grand Commander Holbrook of the Southern Jurisdiction thanks Gourgas furnishing copies of M'Cosh's book, Documents Upon Sublime Free-Masonry, and for “giving our address and so handsomely conveying our authority and ‘tableau’" to the Swiss Freemasons. Holbrook states that he has sent Gourgas “the last dozen” copies of M'Cosh. Has not received a reply Kingston, Jamaica. Copies of M'Cosh have also been “scattered abroad” and the followers of Joseph Cerneau have burnt many of them. Concludes by asking Gourgas for “a little volume upon the Hebrew Calendar.”
