Letter from Moses Holbrook to John James Joseph Gourgas, September 29, 1827. In this letter, Sovereign Grand Commander Holbrook of the Southern Jurisdiction acknowledges the arrival of Gourgas' correspondence from the past five weeks but has been prevented from reading it because of the outbreak of yellow fever in Charleston. Holbrook, a doctor, reports that the outbreak is finally subsiding and thanks Gourgas for the information sent.
