Letter from Moses Williams to Alonzo Hall Quint. Dated August 27, 1862. In this letter, Williams thanks Quint, a Chaplain in the Second Regiment, Massachusetts Volunteers, for sending Williams a lock of his deceased son's hair. First Lieutenant William Blackstone Williams died during the Battle of Cedar Mountain. Williams' letter pays tribute to his son and concludes by thanking Quint for his efforts to help the dead and wounded after the battle.
