Manuscript copy of a letter from John James Joseph Gourgas to John Christie. Dated July 29, 1850. In this letter, Sovereign Grand Commander Gourgas continues his warning to beware of "two certain intriguers not many miles from" Christie, who lived in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. This comment may be reference to Charles W. Moore and Edward A. Raymond of Boston. Other topics include the degrees of Royal and Select Master and a warning against those who "creep up to high office" or try to make money from Masonry.
