Connecticut engraver Amos Doolittle designed this certificate for the Scottish Rite Southern Jurisdiction’s Supreme Council. Doolittle, a Freemason himself, supplied different kinds of engraved items to his Masonic customers, including certificates and printed aprons. This certificate was never used:  The spaces where the recipient’s name would have been filled in are blank. When completed, the certificate may have been decorated with watercolor and would have been made official by Scottish Rite officers’ signatures and an impression of the organization’s seal.
